Valentine's Day Gift Ideas for Him

Yes, I know I am worse than the department stores. We just finish Christmas and now I'm talking about Valentine's Day. However, if you start now you will have plenty of time to pick a few things and not be rushed to get something. Remember if you don't really think about the gift you give it shows. This is definitely not the holiday you want to be giving lame gifts.

So here's some ideas for Valentine's Day gifts for guys.

Personalized Men's Boxer Briefs Underwear

Solid Pewter Key To My Heart

Personalized Best Girl/Boyfriend Magazine Label

Figure This One Out!

Friday, December 22, 2006

Chirstmas is Monday

And if you haven't finished your shopping then boy do I feel sorry for you.

I had to go to the grocery store last night to get stuff for Christmas dinner and this is what I encountered.

First I had to park in east bumble and it was raining. Then I was taking my life in my hands walking the 2 miles to the store, trying to watch all the drivers looking for parking spaces instead of watching the people walking from their cars. You could get killed out there.

So I finally get in the store and there are no carts. Just lovely since I probably passed 100 on my way in. Should have grab one then but like I said it was raining. Oh well, I figure that I don't have to get to much, I can handle it.

I go just to the rows for the stuff that I need and yes, for all the cars in the parking lot there are 2 people in the store.

I start filling my arms trying desperately to hurry and get the heck out of there and of course they are out of something that I need. Just try finding someone to help you. I think they are all in the back watching us crazy people over the monitors. Laughing and getting a kick out of the madness.

So I just say forget it and start to head for the checkout. Oh my gosh! There are probably a million people in the 6 lines that they have open (they have 15). I take a deep breathe and stand in line. I am standing kind of in the way of the flow of traffic so I leave a little space for people to get through. Apparently that is not enough because a little kid driving a buggy runs into me. (he couldn't see over the handle). I drop 2 things from my arms. One was a can of pineapple, the other a small thing of flour. Pineapple fine, flour not so good. Flour on me and all over the floor. (They really should seal those things up better).

The mother of the boy leaned down to him and whispered, "Allen, tell the nice lady your sorry." The boy looked at me and said I'm sorry and they went on. I gave up, put the rest of the stuff on the floor in the pile of flour and left. I will go again but this time I will go at 2 in the morning when hopefully most everyone else is sleeping.

So if you have to go to the mall or out shopping any where in the next couple of days make sure you take your patience and lots of it! Your really going to need it because I'm sure it's twice as bad as the grocery store was.

Next year shop online and avoid all this frustration.

Merry Christmas!

Random Thought

So I get this email from a FindGift.com shopper...

If the 1st wedding anniversary is "paper" why isn't the 2nd "toner"?

I know he wasn't really looking for an answer but I thought this was just too funny to pass up.

Yes, the 1st anniversary traditional gift is paper. This should be some type of romantic book or certificate declaring your love for your wife. And of course the same for the wife to her husband. Please, please don't give your still new bride a ream of paper to put in the printer. I can almost guarantee you will not see your 2nd. Unless you hide something wonderful in that ream of paper. Hey, that's a thought.

Now lets address the second half of this random thought...

Toner. Let's see, black messy stuff that you put in a printer. Good one! I can tell you why the 2nd isn't toner in 2 words... NOT ROMANTIC! The 2nd anniversary traditional gift is cotton. Stick with that, it will better your chances of getting to the 3rd.

It's best not question what works.

Thanks to this FG shopper for sharing, several of us in the office got a kick out of it!

Here's a link to the Anniversary Table to see the rest of the traditional and modern gifts.

Give a Gift of Caffeine

But not in a cup of Joe or a cola drink. Believe it or not it's a soap.

Caffeinated Soap from Wishingfish.com.

This is what it says..."The caffeine is absorbed through the skin."

No joke, each bar contains approximately 12 servings/showers per 4 oz. bar with 200 milligrams of caffeine per serving, and it's peppermint scented.

So if you know someone who can't function until they have had their caffeine and they need some help in the smell department then this is the perfect, and I mean P-E-R-F-E-C-T gift for them!

Beth found this one, great find! Thanks!

200th Post

On March 2nd of this year we started this blog. Our hope was to help those who may be gift challenged and show them the light to finding great gift ideas, and give the gifty a place to find great gift ideas and keep them organized. We have given you gift ideas, ways to find the perfect gift, tools to help make the gift giving process easier and hopefully a laugh every once in a while with all the crazy gift ideas.

I would like to say thank you to all who visit our blog and wish you a Happy Holiday. We hope that we have contributed in some way to your gift giving success over the past year and that you will continue to visit.

I hate to end on a sad note but Anne will be leaving us soon. She has been my biggest contributor for ideas for the blogs and her wit and humor has amused us all.

So here's to Anne, you will be missed!

Tips & Tricks for an Easier Season

That's exactly what you will find at...

Sears and M80 asked me to take a look at their site. After browsing around I was impressed with the features and all the information that I wanted to share it with everyone. They sent me a gift card so that I could fully experience all that the site has to offer and asked me to review the site in my blog.

This site is geared towards helping moms through the holiday season. Not saying that I am, but I know that trying to be a Super Mom is hard enough without the added stress of the holiday season. Not to give out any secrets but it's sites like this that help moms be those Super Moms.

You can find helpful hints for anything from keeping the kids occupied during those long car trips to downloading planners for your gift list, holiday budgets and calendars. There's recipes and decorating tips and things you can do to make your holiday guest feel comfortable.

There's a forum, called Mom to Mom, where you can ask questions and get help from others on anything from what to get your teenage daughter for Christmas to quick and easy meals for entertaining. It's like having a huge network of girlfriends all over the country.

The extreme cutie, Ty Pennington, also has a section where he talks about gifts, entertaining, decorating and fun things to do with the kids.

There's a Kid Zone where you can play games with the kids, print holiday coloring pages and go through the Wish Book. They can also send an ecard to the grandparents to let them know about their favorites from the Wish Book.

This site just goes on and on with helpful information and of course you can shop for gifts. What I think is one of the most helpful features is that you can buy your gift online then go to the store to pick it up. It says they will have it waiting for you, in and out in 5 minutes. Is this just not perfect for those who procrastinate about shopping because they don't want to get in the crowds but have waited too late to have their gifts shipped.

So that's the scoop on this cool site, check it out. It's up until January 12, 2007 so you can find help for the New Year's Celebrations you have to plan.

Harley Christmas Gift Ideas

In the past I have refrained from blogging about Harley gift ideas. I am not sure why because I am partial to Harley's, motorcycles in general, and the men that ride them.
I don't know, there's just something about a guy in leather on a bike.
Yeah baby!
(Sorry, now I know why I haven't blogged about it before, I get easily distracted).
Anyway, here's some gift ideas for the Harley lover in your life.

And there's lots more, check out all the Harley gift ideas.
