Flying Squirrels...but Not What Your Thinking

I guess I have a warped sense of humor because I thought this was funny. This bird feeder spins to and I quote... "gently but firmly flinging the squirrel safely away". All I could envision was squirrels flying through the air and when they land, shaking their head and saying, "What the...?"

Honoring Bugs Bunny

If you were to ask people who their favorite Bunny is I bet most of the responses would be, Bugs Bunny. He may even beat out the Easter one. But who can't help but love that witty little fur ball! On this day back in 1940 that wraskly wrabbit debut in the cartoon, "A Wild Hare". Since then he has been entertaining kids, young and old, all over the world. So here's to you Bugs Bunny...

By the way, this Sunday, July 30 is Cheesecake Day and Father-in-law Day. So if you forgot your father-in-law on Father's Day send him the gift of a 4 lb. cheesecake and he will probably invite you over to help him eat it.

Gift Ideas for Spoiled Dogs

There are dogs, then there are dogs that are spoiled rotten. I have to admit that I have a spoiled dog, she is the queen and I am her servant. Every little wimper and whine is given attention and boy has she learned how to use it to her advantage!

Now admitting that I am ruled by a dog I have to say that I probably, (notice I said probably) wouldn't go this far,

But you have to admit they are cute!

Check out all our other gift ideas for dogs, spoiled or not, and gifts for those who spoil them too!

A "You Deserve It" Gift Idea

Do you have a coworker who always seems to be overworked, stressed out and on their last nerve?

Give them exactly what they need, a vacation, more specifically the Office Vacation in a Box . This gift comes complete with an umbrella, mini deck chair, real sand, beachball and a cd for their computer with a tropical backdrop.

Let them drift away in this tropical oasis and hopefully they will come back relaxed and feeling renewed. Just make sure they do it on their lunch break and not on company time, you don't want to get them fired for slacking!

Thanks for the gift idea June!

Giving Food as a Gift

More specific, giving a complete dinner as a gift. This is the perfect gift for someone who is too busy to cook, eats out frequently and loves good food. Or better yet, someone who always does the cooking and for a change send them dinner so they don't have to cook. This is also a really good gift for people like me, I only cook when I have to but boy do I love to eat!

This past father's day I sent my dad a salmon dinner that came complete with sides and a dessert. He said it was really good food and he loved it. He told me, "What a unique gift!" I didn't say this to him but I thought, "What'd you expect, considering where I work is all about unique gift ideas?"

There are dinners like:

This is making me very hungry!

Today is a Very Special Day at FindGift.com

July 13th is "Embrace Your Geekness Day".

According to Dictionary.com, one of the definitions of geek is; a person who is extremely interested and knowledgeable about computers, electronics, technology, and gadgets. Now a geek should never, ever be confused with or called a nerd. That would be a tremendous insult. Geeks are intelligent, nerds are...well to be honest, geek wanna-bes.

Geekness through and through, that's our guys here at FindGift.com. Sometimes this is taken as a derogatory label but I am saying this with the utmost respect and admiration for what they have accomplished in making FG.com the site it is today.

So here's to you, Bob, Gary, Evan and Sri! Embrace your geekness and be proud!

A Jock Strap for Your Beer (or soda can)

Okay, so I did beer yesterday and no I don't have this unusual facination with alcohol related gifts. It's just some very imaginitive and creative gift ideas are centered around alcohol.

This one doesn't have to be a beer can but any can will work. It basically a jock strap for your can that really serves a purpose.

Jock Wraps Drink Markers & Coasters

It a coaster, and a marker for your drink. Comes in a pack of six and they are numbered. Now the numbering thing could be for identifying your drink or keeping track of how many you've had. Whichever is most beneficial to you.

Buy Someone a Beer, Online?

You really can! You can buy someone a beer and have the gift certificate emailed to them. The certificates are good at thousands of places nationwide, so they can pick the bar or restaurant they have the beer.

You can send them a beer (or a few beers, if you want) for their birthday, to say congratulations, or thank you. You can send someone a beer for pretty much any occasion.

I'll bet some people would think a beer is way better than an e-card.

I wonder if they have condolence beer gift certificates? A friend of mine took a terrible blow when he lost at Cranium Saturday night!

Eatin' Bugs

Didn't we all try this at one point or another when we were kids? It was usally a dare. A friend would say, "I dare you to eat that worm", then another friend would say "I double dare you". We'll you couldn't not do a double dare, you would be considered a wimp for the rest of your life. At least at that age that's what it seemed like. I know my brother would eat just about anything, dared or not. Remember the play-doh? What else is funny is his name is Mike. (Mikey likes it, he likes everything).

Here you will find chocolate covered ants. It's the real deal. Besides in some places aren't chocolate covered insects considered a delicacy? Oh, Yummy!

They also have other things related to bugs, a ladybug lip gloss necklace, a bug habitat you wear like a watch, and a butterfly feeder.

If you have a kid who is dreaming of becoming an Entomologist this would be a great place for birthday gift ideas. If you have a boyfriend who is being a jerk, give him some chocolate covered ants (don't tell him what they are) or a sucker with a scorpion in it. Or if you just want a gag gift for someone who you know hates bugs, this is the place.

Tell us about any of your experiences with eating bugs. (The one in the tequila bottle doesn't count!)

Sister's Day is August 5

Growing up, my sister was just "my older sister". She is 5 years older and that was just close enough and far enough that I was just an annoyance when I tried to hang out with her and her friends. As we grew older and even though we are two completely different people, we have developed a bond and friendship that I wouldn't trade for the world.

I want to get her a very special gift for this Sister's Day. I was thinking of something like the Sisters & Friends Forever Necklace or the Sister Definition Glass Block. Then I also saw the Good/Evil Sister T-Shirt which would get a good laugh since she's actually the good sister. I also saw the Sisters Pin which is just my sister's style. Decisions, decisions!

Let the Gift Wizard help you find gift ideas for your sister.
