Beer Pedicure Gift Idea for Your Man

Turning a not so manly thing into a manly event can only be done by one thing....
BEER
According to Signature Days, beer enzymes work to soften callouses and exfoliate skin. You can get your man a Beer Pedicure and then he will understand why it is so necessary for you to get your weekly manicure/pedicure. You will never hear him grip about the money you spend on it again!
I almost forgot. He also gets to drink a beer while he's having his pedicure. And I bet if they have a TV tuned to football he'll think he's gone to heaven!
Great find Anne!

The Day After Thanksgiving Christmas Shopping

So we didn't end up at Denny's. Actually my dinner turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. Tasted very close to mom's and everyone stuffed themselves. Of course the only difference was that instead of being able to take a nap, I had to clean up! And the worst part about it was having to find room in the fridge for all the left overs. I'm not as good as my mom in being able to find room for all that food, but I eventually got it all in there. A funny thing too was that I probably spent 8 hours cooking and it took less than an hour to eat. But now I know my mom's reward, seeing everyone layed out in the living room in their turkey coma. I had done my job and had done it well! It was a good feeling.

So I hope everyone had a great day yesterday! Now down to business. I did exactly what I said I was going to. I sleep late, 8am, then went shopping. Only all I did was get out of bed and walked across the hall to the office and sat down in front of my computer. Found deals and sales and got Christmas gifts for many on my list. AND I still have my sanity. Think it has anything to do with the fact that I didn't have to get up before the crack of dawn, get dressed, go play in the traffic and stand in endless lines at the mall.

See I told you, it's just that simple!

So if after you fight the traffic and the crazy people at the malls and you still haven't figured out what to buy for some on your list, come to us. We can help!

Happy Thanksgiving

On Thanksgiving we spend time with family and friends, look back on the events of the past year and are thankful for what we have. There will be lots of good food and fun and football.

First, I want to tell you one thing...

I'm thankful that your reading my blog!

Second, FOOD! You know me and food. I think about this every year but, isn't it funny that no one can make Thanksgiving dinner like your mom? At least that's the way I feel about my mom's Thanksgiving dinner. You grow up eating your mom's food and nobody can seem to do it quite like she does.

I'm going to be cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year. This should be interesting seeing as I have never cooked the entire meal on my own. Of course, my mom never had recipes she could pass down. It was always done by some of this, a pinch of that and that looks right. Big help! So wish me luck that my dinner turns out edible and that we don't end up at Denny's.

Goodies' Smoked Turkey

(this is what I hope my Turkey looks like)

Happy Thanksgiving!

More Than Just a Beautiful Gift

I love jewelry! In fact, I think that most women love to get jewelry as a gift. Jewelry can be a very personal, sentimental and meaningful gift.

Men use it to show their love and devotion to their future wives in the form of the engagement ring. There's a gemstone associated with almost every major anniversary, which is usually given in the form of some type of jewelry.

When jewelry is given to express a feeling, a wish, or even a hope, it becomes more than just a beautiful gift, it becomes a treasure.

Thanksgiving is Next Week

And everyone knows what happens the day after Thanksgiving, people turn into shopping maniacs. Rushing to the malls and shops to take advantage of those after Thanksgiving sales. People who are normally very nice and calm turn into mean crazy people. Fighting traffic, standing in line, after line, after line. Sounds like so much fun!

NOT TO ME! Don't get me wrong. I love to shop, I am a shopaholic! I very rarely buy anything if it is not on sale. But... I have never or will I ever go OUT shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. I don't care how good the sales are, nothing is worth the aggrevation and frustration that going OUT to shop on this particular day causes.

However, I will shop on this day. I'll do it from my quiet living room, drinking hot tea and I will probably still be in my pajamas. I WILL find deals and things on sale, and I will find the perfect gift for many on my holiday list. I will be in a good mood all day because I will be doing what I love best, SHOPPING!

I'm going to shop online. It's just that simple!

Christmas Gift Ideas for Nieces and Nephews

Everyone knows that aunts and uncles can get away with giving certain types of gifts to their nieces and nephews. Ya know, the loud ones, the messy ones, the gross ones, or the scary ones. That's because they don't come home with you, they go home with their parents. Now some gifts can be pay back for another siblings antics when they were young.

I know that I always give my brothers son a gift that he will enjoy but is sure to drive my brother and his wife nuts in some way or another. You see, my younger brother totally terrorized my son when he was young. And you know the saying, "Payback is &*%$". Well I make sure I put my brother in it every birthday and holiday.

So here's some of "those gifts" for aunts and uncles to give their precious little nieces and nephews.

For nephews:

For nieces:

Thanks to Beth for the subject of this post!

Thanksgiving Gift Ideas

Halloween is over and now it's time to start thinking about Thanksgiving. Do you give gifts at Thanksgiving? Sure you do! Remember a gift is appropriate for any holiday, any reason, or for no reason at all, just because you want to.

So when you think of Thanksgiving what do you think about? Being thankful for what you have in your life, family, friends and Thanksgiving Dinner. Turkey and dressing (or stuffing depending on what part of the country you are from), sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberries and pumpkin pie.

Click here to find Thanksgiving food ideas.

Here's some other great gifts to give for Thanksgiving...

It isn't the size of the gift that matters, but the size of the heart that gives it. ~Quoted in The Angels' Little Instruction Book by Eileen Elias Freeman, 1994
